Pairings Announced For 2017 Philadelphia Catholic League Boys' Basketball Championship

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Vying for the program’s first-ever title, Archbishop Wood is the top seed for the 2017 Philadelphia Catholic League Boys’ Basketball Championship, which commences on Wednesday, Feb. 15.
At 19-3 overall, the Vikings enter the championship boasting a 13-game winning streak. Archbishop Wood and Neumann-Goretti each posted identical 12-1 records in PCL play, but the Vikings earned the top seed by virtue of their 82-73 win over the Saints on Jan. 26.
Also earning first round byes is two-time defending champion Roman (10-3), as well as Archbishop Ryan (9-4) Father Judge (9-4) and St. Joseph's Prep (8-5).
First round action commences on Feb. 15 as seventh-seeded Archbishop Carroll hosts No. 10 La Salle College, while No. 9 Conwell-Egan visits eighth-seeded Bonner & Prendie. The quarterfinals will be held on Feb. 17, with the semifinals scheduled for Feb. 22 at The Palestra. The finals of the 2017 PCL Boys’ Basketball Championship will be held at 8:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 27 at The Palestra.
