CHELTENHAM, PA - Teammates Frank Gregor and Bud Hansen each carded a 76 as La Salle College defended its title with a 10-stroke victory over runner-up St. Joseph's Prep on Tuesday at the 2016 Philadelphia Catholic League Golf Championship at JC Melrose Country Club.

Junior TJ Chaykosky added a round of 77 as the Explorers seized the program's 14th PCL title since since 2000.

Roman senior Alex Durelli claimed the PCL individual title in dramatic fashion as he edged Andrew Gallagher of St. Joseph's Prep on the first playoff hole, after both student-athletes compiled scores of 73 after 18 holes. Senior Karly Brown of Archbishop Wood placed third overall with a round of 75.

The District XII Championships will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at Medowlands Country Club in Blue Bell.
