2016 Roman Grad Lamar Stevens To Participate In Prestigious Nike Basketball Academy

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Penn State junior forward Lamar Stevens - a 2016 graduate of Roman Catholic High School - has been selected to participate in the 2018 Nike Basketball Academy (Aug. 8-12) in Los Angeles, CA. The annual skills development camp will provide Stevens with the opportunity to learn from and train alongside NBA superstars present and past.

Named the Most Outstanding Player for the 2018 NIT, Stevens has started every game for the Nittany Lions in his two-year career (72 games), and led Penn State in scoring average during NIT postseason play (19.2 ppg.). He scored a game-best 28 points in the championship game at Madison Square Garden, and reached the 1,000 career point mark in the first quarter, becoming only the second-ever Nittany Lion sophomore to reach the milestone.

Stevens was a member of the 2016 Roman team that captured the PIAA 4A state title and earned Philadelphia Daily News Player of the Year distinction for his efforts.
