Little Flower & La Salle College Capture 2019 PCL Golf Championship Team Titles

BLUE BELL, PA - Matt LaFond fired an even-par 71 and teammate Steve Lorenzo finished one stroke behind as La Salle College seized the 2019 Philadelphia Catholic League Boys’ Golf Championship on Tuesday at Blue Bell Country Club.
On the girls’ side, Little Flower earned its second PCL Girls' Championship in three seasons as Kassidy Foley recorded a 112 and Kelly Bauer a 131 on the afternoon.
Griffin Caufield and Mario Ventresca carded rounds of 75 and 76, respectively, as the Explorers (460) earned their fifth consecutive title and 17
th overall since 2000.
Nick Scarpone led runner-up St. Joseph’s Prep (472) with a three-over 74, while Evan McGeever's round of 79 guided Archbishop Wood (516) to a third-place finish. Bonner & Prendie finished fourth overall in the team standings with a score of 527, followed by Devon Prep (528), Cardinal O'Hara (534), Roman (568), Archbishop Carroll (579) and Lansdale Catholic (610).
Archbishop Wood freshman Lola Barnett was the girls’ individual champion with a round of 88, while sophomore teammate and sister Chaela Barnett placed second with a score of 95.
Each student-athlete who shot an 84 or better at today's PCL Championship earned All-Catholic distinction. The 2019 District XII Championships which will be held on Oct. 8 at JC Melrose Country Club in Cheltenham. La Salle College, St. Joseph's Prep, Archbishop Wood and Bonner & Prendie earned berths in the 3A team competition, while Devon Prep will compete for the 2A Championship and Little Flower for the 3A Girls' Championship.
