Archdiocese Hosts Second Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Meeting Of The School Year

RADNOR, PA - The high schools of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Catholic League held their second Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meeting of the 2019-20 school year on Thursday, Mar. 5, on the campus of Archbishop John Carroll High School.
Guest speakers included Mr. John Griffin, 1974 Roman grad and former head men’s basketball coach at Siena College and Saint Joseph’s University; and Mr. Joseph Trainer, athletic director, Pope John Paul II High School.
Group discussion focused on issues such as academic and athletic balance, multi-sport athletes, the PIAA calendar, and improving the overall student-athlete experience. The group met previously on Nov. 7.
Thanks to all of the students who dedicated their time to be a part of this committee this year, and working toward improving the experience of the thousands of high school student-athletes of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Catholic League.
