SPRINGFIELD, PA -
Top-seed Cardinal O'Hara earned its first PCL Girls' Volleyball Championship since 2009 with a 3-0 victory over No. 3 Archbishop Wood on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Cardinal O'Hara High School. 

Led my league MVP Bridget McGuinn and senior Maggie Doogan, the Lions took the first two sets by scores of 25-9 and 25-15.  COHS then scored the first seven points of the third set en route to a 25-11 victory which set off a jubilant on-court celebration.    

The Lions dropped just one set in 13 matches versus league opponents during the regular season and PCL playoffs.  COHS will host Carver Engineering & Sciences on Nov. 1 at 4:00 p.m. in the District XII 3A Championship. 

Seeking its first PCL title since 2015 and making its first appearance in the finals since 2017, Archbishop Wood, which received multiple kills from juniors Natalie Albin and Meghan Prior on Saturday.  The Vikings will meet CAPA at 6:00 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Cardinal O'Hara in the District XII 3A third-place match.  The winner will earn a berth in the PIAA 3A Championship which commences on Tuesday, Nov. 9.
