Bishop McDevitt Grad Cindy Griffin Earns Milestone Coaching Victory

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Saint Joseph's notched a 59-54 win over Yale on Nov. 11 in women's basketball action to improve to 2-0 on the season. The win marked the 400th career coaching victory for Cindy [Anderson] Griffin, a 1987 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School.
Griffin has compiled 352 wins in charge of Saint Joseph's, and recorded 48 victories in three seasons with Loyola (Md.). She guided the Hawks to the 2013 A-10 Championship and the 2nd Round of the 2014 NCAA Tournament.
As a student-athlete at Bishop McDevitt, she led the Lady Lancers to the 1986 & 1987 Philadelphia Catholic League Girls' Basketball Championships. Anderson scored 17 points in the 1987 PCL Championship game win (56-38) over Archbishop Carroll.
Saint Joseph's returns to action on Nov. 15 when it hosts Penn.
