PHILADELPHIA, PA - Lansdale Catholic captured the inaugural Philadelphia Area Girls' Flag Football Championship on Saturday evening at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
After advancing to the semifinals earlier in the week, the Crusaders defeated Mastery Charter Camden, 20-0, in the semifinals on Saturday afternoon before registering a 13-0 win over South Philadelphia High School in the finals on Saturday evening.
The Eagles' Girls' Flag Football League consisted of 15 high schools from the Philadelphia Public and Catholic Leagues, all of which had the opportunity to participate in an eight-game season, with the goal of making girls' flag football an official sanctioned sport in the state of Pennsylvania. In addition to LC, teams representing Archbishop Ryan, Archbishop Wood and St. Hubert's also competed in the inaugural season in 2022.
Congratulations Lansdale Catholic!
