HERSHEY, PA - Guard Alexis Eberz and senior Taylor Wilson scored 12 points apiece and Archbishop Carroll was a perfect 6-for-6 at the foul line in the final 24 seconds to capture the 2023 PIAA Girls' Basketball 6A Championship with a 43-37 win over Cedar Cliff on Friday evening at the Giant Center.

The win secured the Patriots’ first state title since 2012 and third overall while making their fifth appearance in the PIAA finals.

Following a three-point field goal by Sydney Weyant with 18 seconds remaining which pulled previously undefeated Cedar Cliff (30-1) to within 39-37, junior Brooke Wilson knocked down a pair of foul shots before Eberz iced the game at the line with three seconds remaining.  Brooke Wilson compiled 10 points and five assists while Eberz grabbed eight rebounds for Archbishop Carroll (17-13), which held Cedar Cliff to 30.4 percent shooting on the evening.
