Christine Doogan Appointed Director Of Athletics At Cardinal O'Hara

SPRINGFIELD, PA – Cardinal O’Hara High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Christine Doogan as the new Director of Athletics. A proud graduate (Class of 1993) of Cardinal O’Hara, Mrs. Doogan brings a wealth of knowledge, dedication and passion to the role.
Mrs. Doogan previously served as the Assistant Director of Athletics at O’Hara, along with being the head coach of the 2-time State Champion Varsity Girls' Basketball team. Prior to returning to the school, she was an assistant coach at both LaSalle University and Cornell University.
Mrs. Doogan holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from LaSalle, and is a member of the Big Five Hall of Fame, LaSalle Athletic Hall of Athletes, Delaware County Hall of Fame, and Cardinal O’Hara Hall of Fame.
Reflecting on the selection process, Eileen Murphy, the Principal of Cardinal O’Hara High School, expressed respect for Mrs. Doogan. "Chrissie has been a great ambassador and leader in our school community. During the search process she quickly stood out among a highly qualified and large applicant pool," Murphy stated. "Not only does she possess a familiarity with our school, student-athletes and coaches, but she also presented a plan for enhancing the student-athlete experience and for helping in the development of our coaches. We are thrilled to have Chrissie lead our Athletic Department.”
Mrs. Doogan will assume her new role as Athletic Director on Sept. 11, and will remain in her current coaching position as well.
