Pat Devenney Named Athletic Director At Bonner & Prendie

DREXEL HILL, PA - Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast Catholic High School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Patrick
Devenney
as the new Director of Athletics.
Mr. Devenney previously served as Director of Athletics at Neumann-Goretti High School since 2021 where he oversaw 13 athletic teams, and led the effort in establishing girls’ and boys’ soccer, girls’ flag football, softball, and girls’ and boys’ tennis programs. In addition, while at Neumann-Goretti, Pat served as a Physical Education/Health teacher, developed a curriculum for Sports Medicine (as well as a Health and Fitness program), and served as
the
Assistant Varsity/Junior Varsity
Head Baseball Coach.
Mr. Devenney is a native of Manalapan NJ, and graduated from St. John Vianney High School. He then went onto Immaculata University earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management/Business Administration. Pat also holds multiple certifications from the International Sports Sciences Association.
Before coming to Neumann-Goretti, Pat played, coached, and instructed baseball for a number of organizations including Maple Zone Sports Institute, Rowan College at Burlington County, and his high school alma mater. From 2018-2019, he started in the infield for the Irish National Baseball Team, which won the gold medal in the 2018 European Championships.
Reflecting on the selection process, Dr. John E. Cooke, President of Bonner & Prendie Catholic High School, expressed his admiration for Mr. Devenney. “Right from the start of the process, Pat stood out as a leading candidate for the position.” Cooke added, “Since Pat served as a teacher, coach, and director of athletics at Neumann-Goretti; he brings with him a wealth of experience, knowledge, and skills that will effectively serve the students and coaches at Bonner & Prendie. In addition, he is well respected by his peers in the Philadelphia Catholic League (PCL), which will also benefit him and our school as we move our athletic program forward.”
Mr. Devenney will assume his role as Athletic Director on July 15th, and his appointment marks an exciting new chapter for Bonner & Prendie Catholic High School's athletics program. With his experience, passion, and vision, Mr. Devenney is poised to make a lasting impact on the student-athlete experience and the broader Bonner & Prendie community.
