PHILADELPHIA, PA – The Roman boys’ soccer student-athletes and coaches volunteered its time in the rain on Sept. 28 to support a local organization with its important endeavor.
The Pink Elephant Movement’s 9
th Annual 5K Run/1-mile Walk was held in an effort to raise awareness and donations which are used for tuition, tutoring, childcare and even extra-curricular activities to help children get what they need throughout all stages of life. The mission of the Pink Elephant Movement is to give support to children and families who have been affected by addiction, especially to those who have opened their doors to children.
About The Pink Elephant Movement
We formed this organization because we saw a need to bring awareness in our community that families are being torn apart by the opiate epidemic. This epidemic is growing at an unfortunate pace. Children are losing their parents and are being left in the care of relatives and friends. We have come together to provide financial and community support to those caregivers who selflessly opened their homes to those children left behind.
