St. Hubert's Edges Archbishop Wood For Program's First PCL Girls' Soccer Title Since 2002

PHILADELPHIA, PA - St. Hubert's claimed its first PCL Girls' Soccer Championship since 2002 in dramatic fashion with a penalty kicks victory over four-time defending champion Archbishop Wood on Saturday evening on the campus of Saint Joseph's University.
Archbishop Wood senior Paige Eckert and Bridie Musial of St. Hubert's each tallied goals before the Bambies notched a 5-3 victory in penalty kicks. St. Hubert's received outstanding play in goal from Quin Miller and will face Benjamin Rush on Oct. 28 at 3:00 p.m. in the District XII 3A Championship. Archbishop Wood advances to the opening round of the PIAA 2A Girls' Soccer Championship on Nov. 4.

Second half goals by senior Ryan Shenko and junior Jan Axsom lifted No. 3 La Salle College to its third consecutive PCL Boys' Soccer Championship with a 2-0 win over fifth-seeded Father Judge on Saturday evening on the campus of Saint Joseph's University.
The Explorers will face host Northeast High School at 5:00 p.m. on Oct. 29 in the District XII 4A Championship. Father Judge was seeking its first PCL title since 2013 after earning a 3-0 win over No. 1 Roman in the semifinals.
