PHILADELPHIA, PA - No. 2 Roman and fourth-seeded Father Judge will meet on Sunday, Feb. 23, in the finals of the 2025 PCL Boys' Basketball Championship - presented by BLOCS - following their victories before an energized and jam-packed Palestra crowd.on Wednesday evening.
Senior Shareef Jackson scored 19 points and younger brother Sammy added 17 as two-time defending champion Roman posted a 66-42 win versus Devon Prep in the opening game of the PCL Boys’ Basketball Semifinals. Shareef grabbed 13 boards and sophomore Tyler Sutton added eight rebounds as Roman limited No. 3 Devon Prep to just 20 points in the second half. Senior Zane Conlon scored a team-high 15 points for the Tide, who reached the PCL semifinals for the first time in program history.
In the second semifinal, senior guard Rocco Westfield drained five field goals from beyond the arc in the opening half and classmate Kevair Kennedy recorded a triple-double as fourth-seeded Father Judge advanced to the championship game for the first time since 1998 with an 89-61 victory over regular season champion St. Joseph’s Prep. Westfield scored 20 points to lead five FJ players in double figures, while guard Derrick Morton-Rivera added 17 points forward Everett Barnes 14 points for the Crusaders. Senior guard Olin Chamberlain led all scorers with 22 points on the evening.
The finals of the 2025 PCL Boys' Basketball Championship will be held at The Palestra on Sunday, Feb. 23, at 2:45 p.m. The Girls' Championship tips off at 12:30 p.m.
