Neumann-Goretti Edges Lansdale Catholic In Thrilling 2025 PIAA Girls' Basketball Finals

HERSHEY, PA - Senior Amaya Scott’s steal and layup with the score tied and 18 seconds remaining lifted Nuemann-Goretti past Lansdale Catholic, 48-45, in a thrilling PIAA 4A Girls’ Basketball Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Giant Center.
The win secured the Saints’ (26-4) sixth state title in program history in the 52
nd annual PIAA Girls’ Basketball Championship.
Vying for its second PIAA crown in three seasons, Lansdale Catholic jumped out to a nine-point advantage in the opening quarter and expanded its lead to 27-16 on a three-point field goal by senior Nadia Yemola at the 4:45 mark of the second quarter. However, NG closed to within 27-23 at the break led by Scott’s 11 points.
Trailing 43-39 in the fourth quarter, senior guard Carryn Easley knocked down a pair of three-pointers in a span of 25 seconds as Neumann-Gorretti pulled ahead 45-43. A layup by LC senior Grace McDonough even the score at 45-45 with 1:57 remaining before Scott’s heroics in the final moments of the game. Scott scored 17 points and registered eight steals as Neumann-Goretti forced 22 turnovers on the afternoon. Sophomore Reginna Baker added 11 points while Easley chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and five assists for the PCL Champions.
Senior guard Sanyiah Littlejohn poured in a game-high 21 points – including the 1,000
th of her career – McDonough added 13 points and 10 rebounds and Allie Esposito scored all eight of her points in the opening half.
