Lansdale Catholic Defeats Archbishop Ryan To Win 2026 PCL Girls' Volleyball Championship

Lower Gwynedd, PA –Senior Greta Swope registered nine kills and freshman Reagan Maleski added seven kills and three aces as Lansdale Catholic captured the 2026 PCL Girls’ Volleyball Championship with a 3-0 (25-14, 25-19, 25-17) win over Archbishop Ryan on Thursday evening before an electric crowd at the sold out Griffin Complex on the campus of Gwynedd Mercy University.
The victory secured the second league title in four seasons for the second-seeded Crusaders who finished runner-up a year ago and dropped a five-set decision to Archbishop Ryan on Sept. 22.
Leading 18-13 in the opening set, LC finished strong by winning seven of the final eight points. It then carried that momentum over to the second game by jumping out to a 6-0 advantage, much to the delight of its raucous student section, and never trailed as it took the second set, 25-19. The third game featured strong play on both sides before the Crusaders pulled away for a 25-17 win and the program’s third-ever PCL crown.
Mia Gamza recorded eight kills and a block while senior Molly Callen and Emily Fiddler created havoc at the net throughout the evening for Lansdale Catholic. Aubrey Dillon and Olivia Izzi delivered strong performances in defeat for regular season champion Archbishop Ryan, which was making its first-ever appearance in the PCL Finals following its 3-2 semifinal victory over No. 5 Cardinal O’Hara on Oct. 26.
LC will face Science Leadership Academy in the District XII 4A Championship at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 4 at Archbishop Carroll. AR will take on Palumbo at Lincoln High School on Nov. 5 at 5:00 p.m. in the District XII 5A Championship.
