PHILADELPHIA, PA - Sophomore Kayla Eberz scored a game-high 22 points – including 12 in the opening quarter – as top-seeded Archbishop Carroll captured the 2026 PCL Girls’ Basketball Championship on Sunday morning with a 42-33 win over No. 2 Cardinal O’Hara at The Palestra.
The victory secured the Patriots' first league crown since 2019.
Eberz accounted for 12 of Archbishop Carroll’s 14 first quarter points as it held a 14-7 advantage. Vying for its first PCL title since 2022, Cardinal O’Hara climbed to within 22-17 at the half. However, the Patriots limited the Lions to just five points in the third quarter and pulled away late before a jubilant on-court celebration.
Junior Abbie McFillin compiled nine points and four board and senior Alexis Eberz scored five points and grabbed four rebounds for AHCS. Junior guard Brigidanne Donohue led Cardinal O’Hara with 12 points while senior Molly Rullo chipped in seven points.
