HERSHEY, PA - Nyeire Farlow’s game-tying three-point attempt was off the mark as time expired as West Catholic was edged by District III champion, Trinity, 52-49, in the finals of the 2026 PIAA 3A Boys’ Basketball Championship on Saturday afternoon at the Giant Center.

The Burrs (16-13) trailed by as many as seven in the final quarter before rallying and closed to within 52-49 on a three-pointer by Farlow with 20.6 remaining.  West Catholic then forced a Trinity turnover with nine seconds left before his final attempt.  Senior Kingston Wheatley poured in a team-high 15 points and grabbed seven rebounds, Farlow added 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting from beyond the arc and guard Rakim Johnson compiled 10 points and five assists for the Burrs.

West Catholic trailed 7-0 to open the game and were down 15-6 before reeling off 13 consecutive points and held a 26-22 advantage at the half.  The Burrs were vying for their second consecutive PIAA title and third in four seasons.

Congratulations to head coach James Lewis and the West Catholic student-athletes on a tremendous season!
