FAIRLESS HILLS, PA - Sarah Beck hauled in a scoring pass from Fran Simeone in the second overtime and Anna Zoryea notched a critical sack on the final possession as Conwell-Egan captured the 2026 PCL Girls’ Flag Football Championship on Monday evening with a thrilling 20-14 (2OT) home win over Archbishop Ryan before a standing room only gathering.
No. 1 CEC avenged a 13-7 loss to Archbishop Ryan on Apr. 10 and lost in the 2024 PCL finals to Archbishop Wood in the final moments of the game.
The Eagles trailied 14-7 with 11:49 remaining in the contest following a Bree Gavaghan touchdown pass to Amber Rothley and a successful point-after conversion. Neither team scored on its first posssession of overtime before Beck's touchdown gave Conwell-Egan its first lead of the evening. Zoryea then registered a crucial sack on third down before Gavaghan's fourth down pass deep down the sideline was knocked away before a jubilant celebration by the Eagles along the sideline.
Rothley had two touchdowns in the contest, senior Amaiya Thurmond notched a third quarter interception, and Kylee Martin was outstanding on both sides of the ball for third-seeded Archbishop Ryan.
