La Salle College Edges Conwell-Egan In Finals Of 2026 PCL Baseball Championship

PHILADELPHIA, PA - Senior first baseman Brycen Clarke hit a three-run homer and shortstop Keegan Wade collected a pair of doubles as top seed La Salle College overcame an early two-run deficit to edge Conwell-Egan, 7-6, in the finals of the 2026 PCL Baseball Championship on Friday afternoon at Tommy Lasorda Field at Meiklejohn Stadium on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania.
The victory secured the Explorers’ second PCL title in three seasons and eighth crown in 13 years. Junior Kaden Cortez had two hits, including a triple, while teammates Luke Borgmann and Ronnie Raby also delivered multi-hit performances for La Salle College.
Junior Brady Guzzie drove in three runs with a single and a homerun and rightfielder Dan Frietag scored two runs and recorded a pair of hits for CEC, which trailed 7-2 entering the top of the seventh before rallying for four runs and had the tying run on second with two outs. The Eagles were seeking the program’s first PCL crown since 2006.
La Salle will face Central in the District XII 6A Championship on Tuesday, May 26, at 4:00 p.m. at Dick Allen Field in South Philadelphia. Conwell-Egan will host the third seed from District III on Monday, June 1, in the opening round of the PIAA 4A Championship
